The Inaugural Golden Easter Egg was held at Wentworth Park in 1990 and awarded Group 1 status by the AGRA. It has become, over the past 15 years, one of the most widely sought after trophies on the Australian Greyhound Racing Calendar.

Open to the best 80 greyhounds nominated (plus reserves) this is now one of the world's richest greyhound events; paying $250,000 to the winner. This event has always attracts a huge contingent from Interstate and as can be seen from the list of winners below, it reads as a "who's who" of Champion greyhounds.

In 2012 the Golden Easter Egg carnival, spanning from 24th March 2012 to 7th April 2012, will contain even more excitement and entertainment. Each Friday and Saturday night (no racing is held on Good Friday) of the carnival will contain first class racing and oncourse entertainment!

Currently, as well as greyhound racing, the complex is utilised for soccer, rugby league, rugby union, public exams, functions and community events. Local schools receive use of the facilities at no charge and the Trust encourages interaction with the community.
