2009 De Bortoli Windy Peak Classic White
An exciting wine, vibrant straw in colour with green hues. Displays a fresh, grassy, slightly aromatic nose, with some gooseberry character. The crispness of Sauvignon Blanc is toned down by the warming stone-fruit flavours of Pinot Grigio and dry flinty-ness of Semillon. Easy and rejuvenating to drink, perfectly matched with pasta, shellfish, Vietnamese ph? or marinated BBQ rosemary quail.
2009 De Bortoli Nouveau Shiraz
Gorgeous drop, bright in appearance with a strong red and purple rim. A complex, brooding fresh berry, complements a spicy nose with hints of whole bunches and graphite. Grapes are hand-picked to avoid any variation within the vineyard. Terrific length and drinkability, perfect with anything light and delicate like rabbit, duck, or wide noodle pasta.
2009 Arundel Sunbury Shiraz
The Sunbury region in Victoria has a pedigree for top quality Shiraz, and Arundel have certainly delivered here. The 2009 offers firm and generous Shiraz flavours of blackberries and dark plums that lead all the way to a soft flavoursome finish. This drop also has the potential to improve over the next few years.
Cleanskin Hunter Valley Non-Vintage White
A well-balanced white with ample palate texture, crisp grapefruit acidity and soft, variety stone fruit characters. Nature has played a big part in contributing to the flavour profile of this generously proportioned Chardonnay, decidedly fruit driven with a richly textured palate and a lovely, lingering clean finish.
